How to choose a tiara

A tiara size should be matched to the proportions of your face. If you have delicate features choose a tiara that is small to medium in size. Larger tiaras will balance bigger facial features. The wrong shape tiara can make your face look too long and thin or too short and full. Here is a guide:
  • Round face: Choose a tiara with some height or one that has a peak.
  • Long face: We recommend headbands or tiaras with little or no height that extend over your head from one side to the other at an even height.
  • Full face: To create the illusion of a longer face, wear a tiara that peaks into a "V" at the top

Match the type of sparkle in your gown with the sparkle in your accessories. Use crystals with crystals, pearls with pearls, etc. Some of the tiaras have more geometric features and others have curving, floral features. If you gown is embroidered with floral detail, look for a tiara with floral detail. A modern gown might look best with a tiara with geometric lines. The overall balance of your outfit should be such that no one piece overwhelms another.

If still not sure, send a picture of yourself and/or your dress and some of the styles that appeal to you most and we’ll email you with recommendations as to the style that would suit you best

Make sure your tiara is secure; you don’t want to have to adjust it all day. However, also ensure that it is not too tight fitting as an ill-fitting tiara will quickly begin to hurt. Most of our tiaras are flexible and can be easily adjusted to fit the shape of your head.
